The dream of many, owning your own appartment. You start with a mortgage and after many decades of paying off the house is yours, or so you hope. All over the world, home ownership is driving the financial markets upwards. Sellers pull out the biggest marketing tricks to entice buyers. There is a lot to be said about the beauty of the buildings, but as so often the dream paints over every ugliness. I made this photo series in a neighborhood in Saydon, Uzbekistan. Situated on the edge of the desert, the location gives me the feeling of being in an alien world. The rhythmic squeaking of the swing - the buzzing of the many wasps and further silence.
